Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra
Conductor: Gábor Hontvári
The structure of this concert’s programme is supported by a pair of heavyweight pillars: two late Hadyn symphonies. The programme also makes plenty of space for lightness, with a piano concerto and the uplifting lyrical sounds of a cantata. The latter vocal piece was composed by a representative of the Hungarian classical music of the second half of the 20th century. The guest musicians: the performer of the piano concerto, the cantata’s solo soprano and the conductor are all members of the youngest generation of Hungarian musicians and performers.
Concert-format opera performance in three acts, with one intermission, in Russian
As in previous years, the 2025/2026 Ferencsik season ticket is aimed primarily at lovers of the Viennese classics. Once again it, offers a wealth of enriching experiences. From Joseph Haydn, we will hear the Symphony No. 87 in A major, the Notturno No. 5 in C major, the “Clock” symphony and the Violin Concerto No. 4 in G major.
The Lukács season ticket consists of three concerts full of new joys to discover. Above all, two young conductors. After taking up the baton on the first evening, the seasoned maestro Domonkos Héja will then turn it over to the 31-year-old Gábor Hontvári and the 37-year-old Dániel Erdélyi, giving them a chance to helm the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra for the second and third outings on the subscription.
