Telemann, Bach and Handel. These three composers of the same era enjoyed impressive parallel careers. Although they knew of each other, they had little personal contact. Those present at our concert will discover what they shared and what set them apart, and the extent to which their music was influenced by social and geographical differences.
Named after the founder and former leader of the Hungarian State Choir, the predecessor of the National Choir, the Pászti season ticket unsurprisingly offers a rich bounty of vocal music: early music and contemporary pieces, as well as a cappella works and oratorical masterpieces, all courtesy of composers from both Hungary and elsewhere.
Mozart’s Kyrie in D minor is a rarity, as is the incidental music to Thamos, King in Egypt, from which the Hungarian National Philharmonic will perform the instrumental suite on the fourth evening of its Kocsis season ticket.
