The varied programme for this concert starts out with a mature Haydn symphony, which will be followed by a symphony concertante, also written by the great Viennese classicist, featuring a violin, oboe, cello and bassoon engaged in an elaborate dialogue with each other. After the interval, though, we will change both era and genre, with our new destination the world of 20th-century opera! What we’ll be watching and hearing is a concise and shocking one-act with an extraordinarily taut atmosphere and an impact that cannot be matched: the kind of work that offers a genuine opportunity and true rewards to the singer in the role of the magician Cipolla.

Our offer

What could be a more beautiful sounding gift one week before Christmas than a three-part oratorio that is unknown in Hungary and recalls a less well documented part of Jesus’s life, the Redeemer’s childhood?

Named after the founder and former leader of the Hungarian State Choir, the predecessor of the National Choir, the Pászti season ticket unsurprisingly offers a rich bounty of vocal music: early music and contemporary pieces, as well as a cappella works and oratorical masterpieces, all courtesy of composers from both Hungary and elsewhere.

As in previous years, the 2025/2026 Ferencsik season ticket is aimed primarily at lovers of the Viennese classics. Once again it, offers a wealth of enriching experiences. From Joseph Haydn, we will hear the Symphony No. 87 in A major, the Notturno No. 5 in C major, the “Clock” symphony and the Violin Concerto No. 4 in G major.
