Kodály Zoltán 1906-ban komponálta lírai hangulatú szimfonikus költeményét, amelynek érdekessége, hogy még a magyar népzenével átitatott kompozíciói előtt született – ajánlása annak az Arturo Toscanininek szól, aki a New York-i Filharmonikusokkal is bemutatta. Dohnányi Ernő szimfóniája a késő romantikus stílus jegyében íródott, a fiatal titán lenyűgöző tudásával, lendületével és zsenialitásával. Bartók és Kodály pár évvel idősebb kortársa, a 20. század első felének egyik legjelentősebb zongoraművész–zeneszerzője és karmestere ezzel az alkotással állt először közönség elé, mint szimfonikus szerző. Liszt Ferenc az Esz-dúr mellett kétségkívül „szelídebb” hangvételű, poétikusabb pillanatokban gazdagabb, de nem kevésbé magával ragadó zongoraversenye a szólóhangszer és zenekar szimbiózisára épül, ebben is rejlik varázsa. Ránki Dezső pedig az a művész, aki Liszt zenéjének nemcsak csillogó felszínét mutatja meg, hanem gondolati mélységét is értő módon tárja fel a hallgatónak, felejthetetlen élményt nyújtva. A hagyományosan Bartók Béla halálozási évfordulójának előestéjén rendezendő koncerten mutatkozik be márciusi beiktatása után hivatalosan is a zenekar Kocsis Zoltánt követő zeneigazgatója, Hamar Zsolt.

The guest appearance of the world-famous American maestro Lawrence Foster, who represents the senior age group of the international community of composers, promises to be among the outstanding events of the season. The musician with Romanian parents has conducted the Hungarian National Philharmonic on several occasions and each visit has attracted an enthusiastic response.
As in previous years, the 2025/2026 Ferencsik season ticket is aimed primarily at lovers of the Viennese classics. Once again it, offers a wealth of enriching experiences. From Joseph Haydn, we will hear the Symphony No. 87 in A major, the Notturno No. 5 in C major, the “Clock” symphony and the Violin Concerto No. 4 in G major.
A French evening in the spirit of refinement, colours, moods – and pathos. The Debussy work, L’Après-midi d’un Faune, heralds the birth of impressionism and the two Saint-Saëns compositions, the Cello Concerto in A minor and the hugely popular Organ Symphony, represent romanticism – the latter of which is heavily influenced by Liszt. It is not just the composers who are French: so are the conductor and the soloist.
