A színház – jelesül az Örkény Színház – nem méltatni akar és nem elemezni, de még csak nem is irodalmi estet rendezni a Nyugatban közölt remekművekből. Színházi élményt keres, drámát – drámaíró nélkül. Versben, novellában, tárcában, kritikában, naplóban, levelekben – a szenvedélyt, amiből a Nyugat összeállt, és amiről Ottlik még ezt is mondja: „…arkangyalok összeesküvése a világ feje fölött. Ezek az óriások rendületlenül, tűzön-vízen át kitartottak egymás mellett, fölébe emelkedve nemcsak mindennek és mindenkinek, hanem az egymás közötti, civilek által fel sem fogható mértékű ellentéteiknek is.”

As is the case every year, the Day of Hungarian Classical Music celebrates our musical heritage on the anniversary of the birth of Zoltán Kocsis.
As many people will remember, Zoltán Kocsis gave a charity concert for disadvantaged children every year on his birthday as conductor of the Hungarian National Philharmonic. Five years after his death, a new initiative was launched: since 2021, we have paid tribute on this significant day to the treasures of Hungarian music in partnership with the Liszt Academy, while also evoking the memory of our former general music director.
Martonvásár is once again inviting music lovers to enjoy some of Beethoven’s finest works this summer. In late June and early July, the Hungarian National Philharmonic will present three evenings of the composer’s music.
