Beethoven: Symphony No. 3 in E-flat major (“Eroica”), op. 55
Host and conductor: Dániel Dinyés
The Young Beethoven
Beethoven’s symphonies are perhaps the most played pieces in the entire symphonic repertoire. The next Musicmania series will present only the first three of them, one on each occasion. We will how trace how a talent became a rebel, and the rebel a genius. No later period of Beethoven’s life was more exciting and tumultuous than this one of great developments and transformations, with many smashed idols and many new concepts formulated. These are concepts and principles that live on today and still influence how music is composed, and thus our everyday lives and thinking, as well. We will be researching and exploring these ideas at the inaugural concerts of Musicmania under the baton of Dániel Dinyés and interpreted by the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra.

The guest appearance of the world-famous American maestro Lawrence Foster, who represents the senior age group of the international community of composers, promises to be among the outstanding events of the season. The musician with Romanian parents has conducted the Hungarian National Philharmonic on several occasions and each visit has attracted an enthusiastic response.

It is not just the composers who are French: so are the conductor and the soloist.
