Not every conductor is capable of fully conveying the extremes of this composition, but Ken-Ichiro Kobayashi, an old favourite of Hungarian audiences and the winner of Hungarian Television’s First International Conducting Competition, certainly is. This concert promises a unique work, and a unique performance.
At the concerts scheduled for the Ferencsik season ticket, the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra will take the stage in smaller numbers, in keeping with the style of Viennese Classicism. The final night on the programme will add another exciting moment when we hear the Piano Concerto No. 21 in C major, K. 467, played on the pre-modern fortepiano.

dramatic cantata, with one intermission
Are sounds capable of evoking the sights, the mood, and the atmosphere of a city, of conveying the spirit of the location? Respighi’s Roman Triptych is certainly able to do so. At this concert, we will hear two of the three symphonic poems in the collection.
singspiel in one act
This season of the Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra revolves around the spirit of Zoltán Kocsis. In November, we commemorate the anniversary of his death with a concert, while on his birthday at the end of May we, together with the Academy of Music, are organising the Day of Hungarian Classical Music with the intention of creating a tradition, nurturing old values and encouraging the birth of new ones.
